TAMMI PROCTOR, CPA

Born and raised in Rocky Hock, NC I married into Perquimans County in 1998. I come from a generational farming family and I have one adult son. Throughout my entire accounting career, I have remained with the same firm starting initially as clerical help, then to staff accountant, became a CPA in 2004, became a partner of the firm in 2006, and in 2022 I became owner of the firm that I have dedicated my professional life to. I enjoy numbers and problem solving which led me to a career that is both challenging and rewarding. Personally, I enjoy thrifting, antiquing, and going to yard sales-it’s the thrill of the hunt for all things vintage! And who doesn’t love a good deal?!

KRISTI PARROTTE, CPA

Hi, I'm Kristi. I am a CPA licensed in North Carolina and Virginia. I worked with a CPA firm in Norfolk, VA for 15 years before joining our firm in 2013. My experience is multi-faceted. I work with individuals, small businesses, and non-profits on bookkeeping, payroll compliance, income tax preparation and accounting systems implementation/support. I am a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor for both Desktop and Online versions. My problem solving and troubleshooting skills help me provide support to our clients and staff. I am a firm believer in supporting local businesses as much as possible, which led me to serving on the Currituck Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for six years and serving as Chair for two years. When I am not working, I enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Hi There, I am Kim. I graduated from Campbell University in 1998 and have worked in public accounting ever since. I have experience with personal and business tax returns, payroll computation, payroll reports, and bookkeeping. I am married, with two grown sons and a daughter in law. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with family, cooking for my family, being outside, reading, and being involved in Church activities.

Hey everyone! My name is Kailee Parrish, and I grew up in Tyner, NC. I have been married to my high school sweetheart since 2022. A down-home country girl, I love all things embroidery, homesteading, baking, and spending time with family in my free time. I went to Elizabeth City State University and received my bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2022. I have been working with our firm since 2021, holding the job titles of intern, receptionist and am currently a staff accountant. My job duties include bookkeeping, completion of tax returns, payroll, payroll tax reports, tax notice compliance and communicating with clients. I am also a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor for QuickBooks Online.

Hey everyone! I am a staff accountant and have been a member of our firm since 2023. I was born and raised in a small town in Connecticut and as a teenager, I moved to Maine. I developed my taste for accounting in Maine at the start of 2020. As a staff accountant, my capabilities include QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online support, bookkeeping, payroll processing & reports, tax preparation, and tax planning. I can also assist you with IFTA reports, and other various heavy truck registrations and reports. Outside of the office, you might find me on a hike with my dog or at the beach. My name is Matthew Benfield, and I'm proud to call Edenton, NC home with my wife Kayla. When I'm not working, you'll usually find me outdoors fishing or watching sports. I'm an avid UNC fan and enjoy following everything from high school athletics all the way through the professional ranks. Most weekends, I like to compare stats from whatever games I've watched and break down certain plays. I earned my Masters Degree in Accounting from East Carolina University and began my career by interning with a few CPA firms in my hometown. Those early experiences helped shape my path and ultimately led me to the firm, where I'm grateful to be today.

Not only am I dedicated to helping clients decipher tax notices and understanding their tax obligations, but I am also the primary contact for our clients with questions relating to our firm’s billing. I like to think my problem-solving approach is much like my creative process in arts and crafts, focusing on the outcome and working backwards to achieve success. I am known for my infectious positivity and laughter, helping foster a supportive and uplifting environment within our office.

Hi everyone, I am Heather the front desk receptionist at our Hertford office, I’ve been proud to be part of the team for 23 years. I live in Merry Hill with my husband, Chris, and our son, Chesson. Outside of work, I love spending quality time with my family and friends, cheering Chesson on at his sporting events, and making the most of summer days on the Chowan River. After all these years, I still enjoy being a familiar face at the front desk and being part of a team that feels like family.

During my senior year of high school, I had the opportunity to become an intern here, and it didn’t take long for this place to feel like home. One of my favorite parts of my job is building genuine relationships with our clients and getting to know the wonderful folks in our community. When I’m not in the office, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family or spending time outdoors. I have a big heart for all things vintage & unique, and I love keeping old traditions alive. Design and marketing are passions of mine, and I’m so thankful I get to use my creative side to keep our social media and website fresh, informative, and inviting. Hi, my name is Sheila, and I have lived in Elizabeth City my entire life. My life has been very stable, with the usual ups and downs that make you appreciate your many blessings. I have been married to my husband, Raymond (Squirrel) for 53 years as of December 2025, and we have lived in the same home for nearly 49 years. We have one son, Chris, who lives in Elizabeth City, and we are very proud of him. Since I was 18, I have held only four jobs, including over 20 years in banking and 21 years at my current position. I enjoy traveling within North Carolina, where the mountains and beaches remind me of God’s creation and the importance of slowing down to appreciate life’s blessings.
